► Hi, my name is Brittany Partridge and I'm an attorney here at Butler Kahn law firm. Today I'm going to show you a video that shows why it's so dangerous to leave your vehicle in the middle of the roadway after you've been involved in a minor collision or if your vehicle stalled out. So as you can see, there's this black pickup truck in one of the center lanes of this interstate. One taillight appears to be working, and if you look really closely, there's some front end damage to the vehicle as if it had been in a collision prior to this. Now, we don't know if the vehicle is operable or not, but it's the duty of drivers in the state of Georgia to move your vehicle from the roadway. If it's safe, you should never have a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway, and this video will show you why. So this driver does have at least one hazard light working, and I'll step out of the way so that you can see what happens next.
► So this interstate that has several drivers, the white car comes along and plows into the back of the pickup truck. We don't know if the driver's inside the pickup truck, but it's clear that this is a severe collision and the driver of the white car is likely injured. So in the state of Georgia, if you're required to move your vehicle, if you're in a minor collision or if it's stalled out and you're safe to do so, what happens if you can't move your vehicle? What if it's not operating? What if the collision is so severe that you can't move the car? Like right now, this pickup truck is probably not able to move on its own. Well, it's so important that you call 911, and this video will continue to show you why. Emergency response is so important to any car wreck, and that's to aid the people who are involved, but also to prevent further damage or further wrecks.
►So this police officer is actually able to push the pickup truck off the road and bring it to a safe place. Now, had 911 been call and timely, or had another emergency response vehicle been able to come with proper lighting this collision involving the white vehicle may have never happened. So remember to always remove your vehicle from the roadway if it's safe to do so. And if you can't, call 911 and make sure that you get help to keep you and your family safe. If you're ever in a car wreck and need help with an attorney, we hope that you call the Butler | Kahn Law Firm. Thank you.
