The state of Georgia governs truck drivers through the Commercial Driver’s License Manual, also known as the CDL manual. Truck drivers must also follow industry standards. These standards are customs in the trucking industry that establish a standard of care that truckers are expected to follow.
Lastly, truck drivers must also follow the standard operating procedures, or SOPs, included in their company’s policies.
