Tractor Trailer Pulled Into Traffic From Emergency Lane Before Fatal Candler County Collision on Interstate 16
CANDLER COUNTY, GEORGIA (June 12, 2025) – A truck driver has tragically died following a Candler County semi-truck accident near the emergency lane of Interstate 16.
Candler County officials are saying that the accident took place on Friday. A tractor-trailer was merging into the right interstate lane when it was struck by another tractor trailer.
The force of the impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles. Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victim.
Sadly, the driver of the second tractor trailer was beyond medical aid and pronounced dead at the scene. Traffic was closed on the westbound lanes of Interstate 16 for several hours as authorities continued their investigation.
