BLECKLEY COUNTY, GEORGIA (February 4, 2026) – One person tragically died, and several others were injured in a Bleckley County semi-truck accident on Interstate 18.
Bleckley County officials are saying that the collision took place on Friday morning. Three semi trucks were traveling down the roadway when they were all involved in a collision with a pickup truck.
Authorities believe that the crash was caused by one Kenworth tractor-trailer truck that was traveling too closely to the others. Paramedics were called to the scene of the collision to help all the victims.
Sadly, one person died due to their injuries, and several people were taken to the hospital. A full investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
Truck drivers must obtain a commercial license and are expected to operate their vehicles with a great deal of safety. According to GA Code § 40-6-49, “The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway.” Truck companies should take several measures to prevent accidents.
